Eating for IBS Recipe Classic
Enjoy this week's classic IBS recipe!
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
This is a great breakfast shake to accompany a bowl of oatmeal or toasted sourdough English muffins. The banana adds soluble fiber and the strawberries lend a luscious sweetness to the morning. Blending the berries mechanically breaks down their insoluble fiber, making them much safer for IBS. Use your favorite non-dairy milk!
Makes 2 Servings
1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries, very slightly thawed
2/3 cup vanilla soy, rice, oat, or almond milk
2 teaspoons Tummy Fiber Acacia
1 tablespoon honey
1 large firm-ripe banana
Puree all ingredients in blender until very smooth. Serve immediately.
