How to quickly break the cycle of IBS attacks
Are you stuck in a horrible rut of IBS? Struggling to stop the pain, spasms, urgency, diarrhea, bloating, constipation?Stick to plain white rice and high volatile oil peppermint or fennel tea.
Is this boring? Yes. But it works like magic to stop attacks fast and get you stable again.
White rice is the perfect way to fill your gut with nothing but a slowly fermenting prebiotic soluble fiber.
Soluble fiber is your bowel motility regulator.
Soluble fiber will resolve BOTH diarrhea and constipation.
You also need to "overwhelm your gut" with powerful antispasmodic teas. This will quickly stop the pain, cramps and bloating.
High volatile oil peppermint is a fantastic IBS painkiller. This is due to menthol and methyl salicylate, the main active volatile oils.
These volatile oils have calming and numbing effects on the gut, and they also have strong analgesic properties.
Peppermint is a smooth muscle relaxant, and your entire gut is smooth muscle.
The other effective option is high volatile oil fennnel tea. Fennel has antispasmodic properties, and is also a powerful carminative. Carminatives prevent the formation and help the expulsion of gas in the GI tract. Carminatives work by coordinating and regulating peristalsis. Peristalsis is the waves of gut muscle contractions.
The primary volatile oils in fennel are anethole, fenchone, and estragole, which all help relax the intestines. The higher these volatile oil levels, the more helpful it will be for IBS.
Fennel is your direct hit for bloating, distension and gas.
You can mix and match peppermint and fennel teas however you wish. Just brew them as strong and as dark as you can.
That means you need to use high volatile oil jumbo teabags or a generous 1-2 tablespoons of full leaf or whole seed loose tea per mug. Brew for at least 10-15 minutes.
Peppermint tea should brew black, fennel tea should brew dark brown. If you don't get those brews you're not using teas with enough volatile oils.
