The Orthodox Church, and most Eastern Rite Catholics, follow the "old" calendar, which pays more attention to making sure Easter falls after Passover. The Last Supper was a Passover meal, so it only makes sense that Easter would have to happen afterwords. In fact, we don't say "Easter," we say "Pascha," which literally means "Passover" -- because we consider the resurrection to be the "new" passover. Just FYI. Panda ( too much sunday school and church camp, anyone? )
