Hmm.... Teen years, like high school? Then there's a lot to choose from! My friends and I were HUGE into constructing mixed tapes together... each of us chose 5 or 6 songs to go on there. I would say "Shadowboxer" by Fiona Apple is a good choice (we saw her in concert opening for the Counting Crows). Man, that's still a good song. I was in high school during the Seattle Grunge movement, so any Nirvana would work too.
