My grandma was the seamstress in the family too. I was too young when she died, though, to have benefited from her knowledge. You're fortunate, you CAN.
Grandma will be glad to see you, but more than that, she'll be DELIGHTED that you want some sewing instructions. She can eat whenever, but she can't spend time teaching you "whenever." So her focus will be on the lessons, not on the food. It doesn't matter what you take, so I'd make it easy on you. Something simple, something you can eat during the instructions. Why not go to the deli and get some thinly-sliced turkey breast and make some sandwiches that you can take with you in a small cooler. The food is SOOOO not important; it's the time with grandma.
The aunt will probably not be interested in the lessons, so I imagine you and grandma will be by yourselves anyway, a good chance to visit with her. She'll be so delighted that you asked her, Nugget, so flattered and pleased, and you'll leave her with wonderful memories of having taught her terrific granddaughter something she couldn't learn otherwise -- you'll be surprised at the sewing tricks she'll know that others will not.
Have a marvelous time. And, by the way, thank you for being so wonderful to an aging relative. I have a pretty good idea how much this will mean to her.
