certainly it could be stress.
that rash the last time wasn't around the time of the boat that was a house, was it?
yup, sure could be stress, hon. i used to break out in a rash on the way to a job i loathed.
you know, the body is capable of doing amazing things, including turning on itself! i think - and this is my own personal theory i've never really seen anywhere, just my gut instinct- anyway, i think that some people survive periods of severe stress (hullo: your childhood) and then have a relatively sensitive thermostat for it in later years. when subjected to bouts of stress, then, the body reacts strongly and harshly in an effort to prevent a repeat of the strong, prolonged stress from the past. does that make any sense? anyway, since you've got your IBS foiled by eating properly, your body has to find another way to "warn you" that you're stressed.
bbB, have you been onyour rowing machine? do you think getting some exercise could help you divert some of this stress energy? just a thought...
*wiw
ps: i had shingles about 5 years ago. that's a real b*tch, ain't it!? damn. mine was on my head, too. i would actually almost be knocked to my knees by those surprise shooting pains. i have read that the virus stays dormant in the body thereafter but that it's unlikely it will ever come back. i certainly hope that's true! but i know that's not what you have now; shingles only attacks along one nerve pathway, so you wouldn't have it all up and down both legs...
