Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that I am in London and so far everything has been great. I am staying with the boy for this week, and then on Saturday I will move into the dorms. I'm not really looking forward to that, but so far this week has been wonderful. It really is so good just to be with him with no real time limits. Usually we get 4 days together, and the most we've ever had together was 2 weeks. There is so much pressure for everything to be perfect when you only have a short time, so we are really enjoying the not-rushed feeling we have.
My tummy has held up amazingly, despite the plane ride and not being able to take my acacia for 2 days (he doesn't have measuring spoons -- who doesn't have measuring spoons?! Anyway I bought some so we are back in business). I started the CD's yesterday and so far have no idea what is on them because I fall asleep almost as soon as he starts talking. Hopefully my subconscious mind really is picking up on this stuff, because my conscious mind is definitely snoozing!
The jet lag hasn't messed me up too much. I took two Hyoscamine on the plane and slept most of the flight! I know it's probably wrong to take them when my tummy doesn't hurt, but I knew they would make me pass out like they always do, so I'm glad I took them. I haven't even opened the bottle since; I've been feeling really good. Today I slept really late, like 11, and then fell back to sleep for an hour when I was doing the CD, but I'm not sure if that's from jet lag or from just being lazy! I have nothing really to do except try to learn the neighborhood by doing some errands for matt, and also grocery shopping and making dinner. Last night I made the yummy tuna sandwiches with lemon and basil from the cookbook, and the cantonese jok. He loved the sandwiches but was not terribly moved by the jok with shrimp and scallions, so I made him a bowl with cinnamon and sugar and he gobbled it up. Sometimes he's such a little boy, but it's a joy to watch him eat. I've never seen anyone with that kind of appetite!
Anyway, I'm off now to run through the rain (does it ever stop? At least it's not hot and sweaty like NYC) to the video store and some other errands. I hope everyone is doing well, and I promise I'll try to be on more, but I don't know if I'll even have an internet connection when I get to the dorms.
Love and hugs,
panda
