My doctor told me to keep a diary of what I eat and learn to avoid the foods that trigger an attack. My doctor believes food is the main source of my IBS. Now when I have an attack I can trace it to food I ate, but mostly my attacks come from stress. I cheat once in awhile like everyone else, but trigger foods don't send me into bad attacks like it use to. As for your boyfriend - give him time. Men in general have a hard time with change (sorry JBI). It took my husband awhile to adjust to my diet change and now he doesn't eat pork and eats small amounts of beef. The biggest shock came last week when he came home with ground turkey. Hang in there Steph and when your meds quick in it should help you to think more clearly.
