Janet, thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm the same way, I tend to be a homebody so if I don't force myself to get out I just stay at home a lot of the time... especially now while I'm in grad school and living at home. I was lucky in college to have a roommate who was very active and often gave me the impetus I needed to go out and do things, but lately I've been struggling to get myself to do it on my own. You're right, having IBS makes it a whole lot worse if you're prone to be that kind of person anyway. That's one reason I'm doing the hypno tapes, because I'm hoping that getting rid of those unrealistic negative perceptions I have about IBS will help me a lot. I'm glad to hear you've gotten over your fear of stadiums and that you're enjoying life more. I've been trying to take more risks, but your story makes me feel like I'm not alone. And it's good to know that you've done so well to overcome it!
