Yeah, the dignity is the worst part. My Nana has a really hard time accepting the fact that people need to bathe her and dress her and that she can't use the stove anymore. She gets so frustrated and angry with herself and with my uncle, whom she lives with.
When I'm in town she usually lets me dress her without a fight which makes me feel good. She's a lot better for me than the day help that was coming in. She does have terrific stories though! And a house full of bizarre and interesting stuff. We found a newspaper from the day Lincoln was shot!
