I don't think it's an IBS thing. I never pee during the day -- never have either. But at night ALL NIGHT LONG every two hours, like clockwork! I actually set my probiotic-taking time by it. I get up at midnight, take a pee, then take the priobiotic. Then get up again at 2, then again at 4, and so on. It stops when I eat something.
And that's what I think is the trigger for me -- what I'm eating. I notice I will go during the day (very surprisingly!) IF I have something different for breakfast than I usually have -- cereal instead of eggs, waffles instead of toast -- it doesn't matter, it's the CHANGE. I won't go all day until I go to bed. Drives me CRAZY! Sometimes it keeps me awake because once I get up my mind begins to work and I can't get back to sleep!
I wonder if water-retaining salt fluctuations in my diet is to blame, such that when I stop eating (like going to bed), I stop taking in salt, thus allowing my body to let go of the water? Just a thought.
