I didn't want to hijack aperson's thread any further - it's another one that has gone out of control.

Thanks, yes, I try to be a nice poster. But I also don't sugar coat anything. I didn't have it "tough" growing up, but I wasn't fed with a silver spoon either. It was a strict household with rules, chores and of course, conflict. But now I take that and use it to my benefit, not detriment. And at the ripe ol' age of 33, I have some valuable input for the next generation as I've been there, and not so long ago that I cannot relate to them.

Part of getting my IBS under control and getting more stable was to stop worrying about what other people said. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion whether I like it or lump it. So I got off my proverbial high horse and here I am... better. Good, not great, given my other health ailments, but pretty good for the most part. Hey, I even ate salad tonight without consequence!

As for my brain, my Chiari, it's not good. I'm battling nearly every day to have a good day lately. Not that I'm laid up in bed, but I know if I do too much one day I will pay the next. I'm paying today for going for groceries, undecorating the Christmas stuff, doing dishes, cooking, changing and washing the bedding, and organizing some of the stuff in the basement storage area. I haven't done that much in one day in some time. But a year ago I would do all kinds of stuff in one day and feel it the next. At least today I know I overdid it and I have the diagnosis to support it.

I have applied to my provincial health coverage to find out if they would cover me to travel to Wisconsin to the WI Chiari Center for an assessment and possibly surgery there. If they will cover a portion, my group health insurance at work will cover up to 80% of the balance up to $100K. This is fantastic if I can get OHIP approvals first. Please, somebody up there love me enough to get OHIPs approval. On days like today I can't wait for brain surgery. Yet yesterday while I did my 101 things, it didn't even cross my mind.

Like with the IBS, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. But I'm managing fairly well, thanks for asking. And I will continue to take it one day at a time until I hear from OHIP and hopefully make a trip to Milwaukee.

Have a great day!!!

Live like there's no tomorrow. Love like you've never loved before.

IBS A 20+ years, Chronic Migraines, Chiari Malformation (decompressed June 22, 2010), Brachial Neuritis, and ??? the list just keeps growing, but I'm still shiny side up!
