IBS is a difficult diagnosis (and illness) because people don't understand how much it can impact one's life. It is embarrassing not to be able to eat what everyone else is eating. To have tummies that make noises, to have to make a beeline to the bathroom and hope you get there in time, to try to smile and follow a conversation while your insides are cramping up, to be so bloated up that someone actually asks you when you are due. And finally after subjecting oneself to a battery of invasive tests then to be told, "Its only IBS." One thing though that I have found through the years (and I have a lot of years) is that IBS flares and goes into remissions. And during the flares things can seem pretty bleak. But isn't it nice that we can come here and everyone here understands. Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
