Hi there and welcome to the board! I was diagnosed at 17, after having at least 3 years of mysterious stomach "issues". My senior year of high school was the absolute worst - every single day I felt like I was going to have D, whether I did or not, and the gas was unbearable. Going to school was a nightmare for me, and of course the anxiety only made it worse. I was given an antispasmodic drug to try but I discontinued it after a couple of months because it didn't help my symptoms and actually made me feel like an alien in my own body. Since then I've gone through cycles of flare-up and remission, but finally decided to try this diet. I found this website probably about 3 years ago, but only started following the diet and posting on the boards about 2 months ago. I'm getting slightly better and just taking it a day at a time!

IBS-A since age 12, and fructose sensitive; with the exception of my pregnancy, have been following Heather's diet since Nov. 19, 2007.
Taking 12g of Acacia per day. Relatively stable since March 2008!
