Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | I don't understand something about this flare up

I loaned my copy of Heather's book out to a friend, and she keeps "forgetting" to give it back. So I don't have that resource available right now for reference.

I don't understand how I can have such severe D for the past 2 days no matter what I eat??? The D attacks usually start 10 to 15 minutes after I've started eating something.

Wednesday night I had eggs with toast for dinner. About an hour later I had a huge BM, almost filling the toilet. All the energy drained right out of me. Had 2 loose BM's before I could fall asleep. Thursday I called in sick to work, of course they didn't believe me... I spent most of my day with D. I had dry toast to eat that day. Last night I ate baked Tilapia and winter squash for my dinner at 7:30pm. No sooner did I finish eating, I was back in the bathroom, a huge BM again. Before I went to bed I had 2 more D attacks. These 2 smelled like the fish I ate for dinner. How can the fish get through my system that quickly?

Does the functional process of digestion trigger these attacks?
