He's got me frazzled. Here's a summary of my visit, sorry, but it's almost frustratingly funny! (Read the lines in " " with an East Indian accent - like Apu on Simpsons)
"And why are you here today?" Um, you scheduled a follow-up to my endoscope, you tell me!
"You don't have Celiac" (which I was told 15 years ago by him!) "Have you ever had blood tests for Celiac" No, I kinda thought you covered that with the biopsy results.
"You do have a hiatle hernia, but it only causes heartburn so I shouldn't be too concerned."
"Are you anorexic? You said you are scared of food" No, I said I'm scared of eating something which causes me to have an attack. I generally love food and eat as much as I can, 4 to 6 meals a day.
"I understand you are trying something different" Yes, I did a hypnosis program. I found it helps. "well, if you believe it helps. That is a good attitude." (Somehow his tone wasn't convincing...)
"Do you want to try the Buscopan again" No, the Bentylol is working much better (and it's 1/4 of the price!) and the Buscopan was not as effective for me. Can I get a new script for it, I'm almost out? "Do you really want one?" Uh, yes. (And I did get it)
"Would you like a colonscopy?" Let me think, is this my CHOICE? "yes" well, then, um, NO! Do I need a colonoscopy? "No, I don't believe so, I will just stick with my original diagnosis of Irritable Bowel" Thanks a lot for the vote of confidence in your skills.
If I have another flare-up I'm to see my family dr. to be referred back to him for a colonoscopy. I didn't tell him I've had wicked attacks the last 2 nights right after dinner and one today before work. But that can be partly attributed to STRESS at work.
Anyways, just my little update.
