I can't believe that your doctor said that to you! Is this a doctor that you have been seeing for awhile? Maybe it's time to look for a new one because she obviously doesn't understand you or what you are going through. Don't you wish you could kick them in the shins and tell them they're stupid?! Pretty infantile but it used to make us feel better when we were kids, right?!
It sounds like you guys have put a lot of work into your apartment. I would love to see pictures. Can you get a fan or something that will provide constant noise but won't interupt the neighbors or you? That's what we do- it's almost calming, like the sound of a waterfall or something.
I am guessing that even if the building was sold and is going to be torn down that it won't happen for a quite awhile. There's usally a lot of legal stuff associated with something of that nature- permitting and such. Maybe you should keep searching for apartments so that you can have a plan b if needed. Is your landlord going to reimburse you for any of the money that you put into it?
Good luck going back to work on Friday! Maybe it will be the distraction that you need from dealing with the apartment and fighting with Adrian.
