I was never given any drops or anything, I was just told it had to run its course and to keep it clean and not touch it etc. etc. etc. I believe it disappeared within a week. I'd probably go see your doctor Monday, if anything to feel better about the diagnosis. As for the drops -- no idea if they'll be harmful if you don't really have a bacterial infection, but that's the kind of question you could probably ask at the pharmacy.
