Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Pink-eye advice please???

Hey Guys,

I'm really confused and could use some advice. I said in a previous post that I was diagnosed with a viral inner-ear infection (I think they call it vestibulitis)...anyways, that happened Wednesday morning. I haven't been feeling great since then but it was mostly just sore/itchy ear and spinning room type stuff. Then Thursday night my left eye started to itch and bother me. By Friday morning it was all gooey and stuck together (sorry if TMI). The thing is, it's my right ear that's infected and now my right eye is acting up. I thought maybe there could be a connection but I couldn't get in to my doctor on such short notice so I had to go to a walk-in.

The doctor was better than most at walk-ins but still not great...he did more neurlogical tests to make sure the inner-ear thing wasn't worsening and then gave me antibiotic drops and said it was just pink-eye. The thing is...I don't know, it doesn't feel like pink-eye. It hurts more than itches and isn't pink. The corner is a little inflamed but that's it. Plus, I read that a lot of cases of pink-eye are viral or allergic rather than bacterial and then you don't need antibiotics. My doc usually swabs my eye and tests it because I get these infections so much...so I'm wondering if I should hold off and try and get in to see my doc Monday or use the drops?

Any advice? Could the drops be harmful do you think if there wasn't a bacterial infection? I just don't like screwing around with my eyes. This morning when I woke up (for example) my vision was really bad (terribly blurry) and it was all sticky again and it took awhile for my vision to return
