Yes, Shih Tzus require a lot of grooming. Every morning he gets his face washed with a warm washcloth, then we comb the eye boogers out and then he gets his topknot and if he is not a wiggle worm yet, then he gets a bow! I have to brush his hair every night or they are very prone to matts and tangles. Shih tzu do actually have hair and not fur, they are supposed to be one of the most hypo-allergenic dogs! I also have to clip his nails, trim the hair on his feet and around his pee-pee and pluck the hair out of his ears because they can be prone to ear infections as well! They require lots of attention and do not like to be left alone! It really is kind of like having a kid!
