Hi Kelly,

I had never heard that inclusions can cause the diamond to shatter when they take it out. That sounds kind of odd to me. An inclusion is basically an imperfection or birthmark in the diamond. All diamonds have some inclusions and the number of inclusions affects the clarity of the diamond. I don't see why the diamond wouldn't be ok if they changed the setting, many women have to have their diamonds remounted on their engagement rings after they've been married many years. My Grandma told me she had to have hers reset after 30 yrs. Just make sure you go to a reputable jeweller.
