Yes, another semester down, only 5 more to go before I graduate. I am going to be going home for a few weeks with a 4-day stint in Morristown to see my grandfather. I'm driving up on the 25th, so it should be one of the only times the NJ Turnpike DOESN'T try to kill me.
As for the IBS, we're approaching predictability if not perfect stability. I can now identify exactly how my stomach and GI is going to react based on certain feelings, which is at least a step in the right direction, I suppose. I'm currently taking Lactulose (more info here ) which is helping somewhat, but I sometimes really need to remember to take it; it's not the most pleasant tasting medicine. The doc also said I can try reintroducing "banned foods" to see what happens, and after a 5-day stint of red meat, he told me not to do that again and keep it to poultry. I tried cheese a few weeks ago and it seemed to be staying down ok, but I haven't tried again since I just had final exams.
Anyway, I'm headed home in an hour or so and won't be back at school until the beginning of January. Not quite thrilled, but certainly quite relieved.
Happy holidays, everyone!
