Sinus Infection Advice

Hey Guys,
Hoping someone here can give me some advice regarding sinus infections. I got diagnosed with one on Friday and it had spread into my eye (for some reason they never drain down my nose, always into my left eye) so the doctors gave me eye drops and a strong antibiotic. They gave me twice the normal dose of the antibiotic since I've had a hard time with these in the future.
The drops seem to have made an improvement on my eye, but the head pain and congestion hasn't improved even a little  I tried to make an appointment to go back this Friday (when antibiotics run out) but they said they were all booked. Now, I can call and bother the nurse and beg and she'll usually squeeze me in, but I'm not sure if its necessary.
Like, does anyone know if it's possible for you to have a sinus INFECTION clear up, but still have whatever was clogging your sinuses clogging them (if that makes sense)?
Any advice would be great
