If it's a proper program and a good place that will really treat you, then I'd say go for it! I've seen, second-hand, both ends of the inpatient spectrum - my best friend (ED's and suicidal) was commited to a ward that was SO bad for her: she was there with all kinds of people, there was no real therapy and it made her worse - and my cousin (depression, nervous breakdown) went to a top, private place and did really, really well and came out alot better.
If it's a good place and you can get in, then I'd really consider it.
