For those of you that were looking forward to it, some even enough to actually consider coming to the Vegas Fall Sprawl to be there for it, we decided not to get married in Vegas.
But, we also decided to not get married in New Jersey.
Why, you ask?
Because we decided to run off this past weekend to Vermont and do the deed there!
Yes folks, Mikey and I are officially hitched!!!!
This past weekend has been one of the best weekends of my whole entire life. Here's what happened...
My mom, stepdad, brother, and sister moved to VT back in December, so we'd been planning to go visit them. We almost went Memorial Day weekend, but it just didn't work out. So, we picked this weekend instead, way back in June we picked it. For our trip, we'd planned on leaving Thursday night and leaving VT on Sunday morning, hitting the Pocono 500 on the way back. (Go Rusty!! LOL)
Anyway, the Thursay night a week before we were to leave, I got the idea to get married while we were in VT and surprise everyone. Mikey loved it, so that's when the planning began. Needless to say, we crammed so much stuff into this past Mon-Wed nights before we left...it was insane! Ring shopping, dress shopping, etc.
We decided to tell my mom we weren't leaving till Fri morning. BUT, what we did was, left Thursday night, got married Friday afternoon, then showed up at her house. She was expecting us to call from a diner to meet us at the diner to show us how to get to her house. Her reaction when we showed up was priceless!! LMAO She just kept asking how did we know how to get there and why did we travel all dressed up. But, she was very happy about the whole thing when she finally figured out what was going on.
We were married outside at this beautiful spot right at the edge of a pond. Here's a pic of a us on a bench that we stood in front of when exchanging our vows:
And here's one of us in the direction you face if you sit on the bench:
And, when we drove home, this is what was on our car:
We got beeps and thumbs up the whole way home! LOL It was so cool!
Added bonus: I did a major road trip with no IBS issues - WOO-HOO-HOO!!!
