What a day! I was talking to a friend on the phone, and I heard this tremendous popping noise! It was so loud that she heard it on the other end of the line.
Terrified and imagining that there was a guy in my garage with a gun, I carefully walked into the kitchen. I don't know what made me do it, but I opened the freezer. Then I realized I had put a can of Diet Coke up there earlier this afternoon---and with all the commotion about the leak in my ceiling, I had forgotten about it.
Needless to say, it had exploded. It looks like someone took a boxcutter and cut the can lengthwise. It looks like someone shook up a large Icee in there!
My friend and I were so relieved that it was not a burglar that we both just laughed!!! She invited me to go to a neighborhood Book Club meeting tonight. (even tho' I haven't read the book.) The hostess is a friend of mine and she makes great Whiskey Sours! So forget the wine, I'm having several of those. Better go eat some bread first.
Wow! What a day! Guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow (cleaning out my freezer.)
