When bad days become funny

Ever have those days where it's almost amusing at how bad it went? That was today for me.

Woke up this morning with really bad PMS and cramps, and took it out on my poor boyfriend. Although he didn't help himself any by making fun of my PMS.

Got to work and spent 4 frusterating hours designing a new website for my boss' mediation practice.

Learned that my poor BF was officially getting laid off today (he's one of the last ones in the company left). He was originally told not to worry about it because he was going to be hired by the company who bought my BF's company. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be for another month so now my BF is out of luck.

My old boss (who works with my BF and is like a second mom to me) is so devestated about having to let my BF go and having her own hours cut back to only 20 hrs a week. She'd rather they just let her go completely.

Already had lunch scheduled with my BF because he was craving sushi. But since he was having a rough day, I wouldn't let him pay, even though I'm already broke.

Got back to work to discover that all the electronic equipment was off and a strange aroma was present. Upon further investigation, it seems that there was a power surge and it fried our surge protectors (thus the bad smell). After rushing to the electronics store to buy 6 surge protectors (for a total of $140), I discovered that my computer wouldn't turn on. Seems the power source fried inside my brand new computer. (Kiss those 4 hours I spent working on the website goodbye...)

So after filing a claim with the electric company and playing innocent about why my computer wasn't working with Dell (they're sending someone out to replace the power source next week under warrenty LOL), my boss decided we had had a long week and we'd deal with it all on Monday.

So on my way home, I notice that my gas tank is empty and my gas indicator said "0 miles to Empty". LOL I hadn't even seen it creep down that low so now I'm franticly looking for a gas station. At the same time, I had finished a 16 oz diet coke (was dying for the caffine while buying the surge protectors!) and needed to go to the bathroom BADLY! So I pick the wrong road and go 10 miles before finding a gas station. LUCKILY I didn't run out of gas before then.

Unluckily, there was no bathroom at this gas station and I was in the direct opposite direction of my apartment. It felt like my bladder was going to burst by the time I got to my mom's house nearby 10 minutes later. LOL But it was unbelievably how much better I felt.

And thus ends the ridiculously long bad day I had. Am just happy it's over and thought I'd share an unbelievable story with everyone.

Now I'm off to climb into my pajamas and watch Law & Order: SUV reruns on USA Network.
