Honestly, here's my opinion and only you can answer these questions:

Are you honestly as sick as you are or is it as soon as your sick you shut down?

Does the pain seriously seize you from working and going out or does it just seem like too much work.

You have to be honest, when answering these questions, because you could have some social anxiety to deal with.

I am in no way a doctor and you know I really like you and admire you, so I don't mean to offend anyone.

Everyone is different in being able to deal with pain. It doesn't make you a weakling. It's YOUR pain threshold and it's not up to anyone else to judge whether it's right or wrong.

Yes, she has to take care of kids so she forges through her day, but you don't have kids. So you are able to stay home and sit if you wish. You're incredibly lucky in my eyes. LOL
