you can't tell someone how they should feel until you have at least walked a mile in their shoes. Does your friend have Fibro? No, then she needs to keep her opinions to herself b/c she literally doesn't know what she is talking about.

You take of yourself first and foremost so that you can be at your best physically and mentally and then worry about housework and such.

Yes honey I do work and have kids with the Fibro, BUT if I get a full-blown migraine there is no work getting done even if I am at work. The pain of a full-blown migraine from Fibro is to great to try and even look at a computer screen. So I will try to take something for it and if that doesn't work I will excuse myself and go home. If it is a mild migraine I will take something for it and then TRY to get some work done. Same with the kids and housework. The kids know when mommy has a real bad headache they need to be quiet and entertain themselves without getting into trouble. And housework is last on my list of things to do and I require that all occupants in my house pick up after themselves so that if I can't get to cleaning it is not disastrous.

On a bad Fibro day with aches and pain if I am home, I relax and forget about my to do list. If I am a work and it is a bad Fibro day I do try and work through it but if it got so bad I couldn't I would go home. And usually on a bad Fibro day at work not much gets done.

You are not a weakling. If you don't feel well enough to be around people or to do housework then don't. You know your body best. And all people are different, Fibro or not, when it comes to pain thresholds and what we can tolerate. You can't tell another person what they should and shouldn't be able to do and tolerate b/c you are not that person. There is NOTHING wrong with you.

And tell her you don't know if your aches and pains are worse then hers, you are not in her body. But that you do have Fibro which according to trained doctors most Fibro patients feel pain much worse than an average person. Doctors found that Fibro patients have an elevated levels of a neurotransmitter -- cerebrospinal fluid substance P -- which is associated with enhanced pain perception. Even when they are not under any trauma or injury, just on a normal basis!

So unless she is a trained medical professional or expert on Fibro she don't know sh*t and should keep her mouth shut. Sorry but I am so sick and tired of hearing how evreything is in our heads, including the IBS as well as the Fibro.

I know she is your friend Rache, but honestly a real friend would help and support you not criticize you. You are a warm and loving person and do not deserve to be talked to like that!

Don't Listen to her!
