I have kids so I know what it's like to be sick and have them to look after. I'd say she's trying to make herself feel better about how hard it is to cope with children when you're sick. I have many days where I know I'd feel a lot better in bed with a hot water bottle but I just have to get on with life and to be honest I think most of the time I feel worse for it rather than stronger. My MIL is a bit like your friend. Nothing stops her. D all day? No worries, she'll go to the beach, shopping, anywhere really, me? I'm lying on the lounge pumped full of immodium and there's no way I'm leaving my toilet! Sorry, waffling, my point is that I think people cope with different types of pain in different ways, maybe your friends migraine's don't cause her as much pain as yours do.
