Yes due to haivng children there are times they must medicate themselves and function- but whenever they do it makes the migraines even worse and take longer to heal. One of them once had a migraine for months before she was hospitalized to break the cycle because she had a reaction to the meds. They have both learned that if possible it is better to sleep it off or at least go into a dark quiet place. on the other hand- I also get migraines, but what I have are much less severe and normally I can function on the meds as long as its just a period of time and then I can sleep it off overnight (normally it takes more like 10-12 hours, but it is doable!) there are different levels of migraines as well as other things, and some people are rude and just don't understand..
