Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

A friend of mine came down real hard on me last night. she thinks I should push myself more to get out and be with people. I told her how hard it is just to get the house clean and make meals. She said "I have migraines too...in fact I have one right now. But I don't let it stop me. i don't have a choice...I have kids to take care of. I can't stop...and I don't. I think you have too much time to be sick..."

Am I a weakling? should I just force myself to be around people during a migraine? Is there something wrong with me?

I told her about fibro and how overdoing it can make it worse. She said "So you think your aches and pains are different than the rest of ours?" I told her that LOTS of people have fibro and research shows overdoing it makes it worse. She changed her tune a bit but still feels I'm not pushing myself enough....

It hurt to hear what she said! But I know some of you...Tissy and jenX esp....work with fibro/migraines cause you have no choice.

PLEASE be honest with me! Maybe I'm just puh puhing myself too much....
