Jenny, I have similar conflicts. I am 28 (29 in May) I am getting married this year and BF and I have been together eight years. We want at least 3 kids. We want to travel. I am bored of my job but it has great maternity benefits.
My career plan is to set up a practice with my friend but in order to do that I need to move jobs and gain clients in private practice. Can't get new job then need leave. Certainly can't open own practice then abandon business partner to reproduce.
My best friend at work got pregnant unplanned three months after she got married and says its the best thing that could have happened to her as she would have procrastinated too much.
If you are going to have more than one child its kind of academic (no pun intended given your line of work) when you start as all of the phases will be disturbed. Go with what feels right...I think!
