Heather, sweetie, I'm very sorry for you. I know how much your grandfather meant to you. It's a good thing you can't cry right now, what with that 12-hr. drive ahead of you. When you're ready, cry your heart out as much as you need. But remember that you're not crying for him, you're crying for yourself. We grieve for ourselves because we want our loved ones with us. In truth, they're much better off where they are. Your grandfather is happy now, he has no pain and he's with Our Lord, where we all want to eventually be (if we're lucky). Your grandfather had you up to the end; your love is a wonderful gift you gave him. He died happy, I have no doubt. Be happy for him, Heather. You proved yourself to be a marvelous granddaughter.
