Last night I was about to "destress" and try my PM yoga dvd which just came in. The house was quiet, I was dressed comfortably, then suddenly my husband called to talk to me about the purchase of a new vehicle (he was at the car dealership). Before you know it, I was on the computer researching consumer reports, etc. until past midnight! So much for my calm yoga night.
So this morning, despite my two children awake, I thought, hey, let me try the am yoga while they play...if not to meditate (which of course isn't possible with two kids nearby), then to just check it out and try some of the stretches. Well, my son had a meltdown and I had to send him upstairs right at the beginning. Then as I was doing one of the stretches, I realized I didn't have a "band" to pull over my leg. Just as I was doing that move, my two year old came over and basically was the "band" for me! She leaned on my leg and thought it was hysterical how she was pushing it back and I just had to think, "This is very funny...I'm not so mind-centered but I got a smile out of it." Then she layed on the floor with me pretending to do the rest of the moves. It was an interesting start to my day, needless to say, but now that I have tried it, I know I will LOVE it when I am alone and focused. Thanks for the recommendation!
