sorry to butt in but i have an answer for you! haha--the GI tests are different tests to rule out any other *serious* bowel disorders ie: ulcertive colitis, inflammatory bowel disorder [IBD] and crohn's disease. once all of those tests have come back negative, then youre diagnosed as having IBS w/constipation and/or diarrhea.
it sounds a little scary but it must be done b/c most all IBS symptoms are shared symptoms of a more complex bowel problem--you wouldnt want to be misdiagnosed.
take bevs suggestion and find a GI doc and try not to worry aside from the light-headedness, it sounds like IBS w/the frequent bathroom-trips. well good luck w/everything!
