Actually, I just "big gulped' the info. on this site in my quest to suggest with more info. under my hat.
THERE ARE TONS OF THINGS YOU CAN EAT, Ruchie. Focus on that.
Kefir is kind of like yogurt, so I'd skip it.
HOWEVER, what's stopping you from making your own Ruchie-friendly soups? Get thee to the store! You can make your own Butternut squash soup or Portabella mushroom soup or Broccoli soup--hey, it's as easy as using your own homemade boiled chicken water!
Quinoa is a power food. Rice might be easy on that tummy right now. Have you tried Jasmine rice? Basmati rice? Goodness, gracious--soy sauce adds pitiful flavour anyways. There are tons of things you can do with zucchini--it's fabululous as a side with fish. Pasta salads are so easy. You can prep. a few servings of any of the above so that you don't have to cook all the time! Maybe angelfood cake for treats/desserts? Pita pizzas? Portabella sandwiches? Mushrooms are wonderful in omelettes/frittas, they totally make a salad much safer if that's your speed. A wild mushroom risotto? With tilapia? An adapted version of a carrot soup? Potato soup? Latkes? Hey, I KNOW you can do this. I know you can energize yourself from IC-Acceptable foods! Carrot muffins? Zucchini loaf? Carrot juice is fabulous! Buy some pears and make your own babyfood pears or pear puree. Chicken noodle soup? Polenta?
Egg white protein powders are available. They would probably be better for you than whey based ones, considering the IBS-diet.
Keep on fighting. Truly, your recovery will be smoother if you are STRONG!
Kate.
