It sounds like those 'crackers' are your comfort foods. Perhaps brewing a huge pot of tea to relax with? Maybe some tunes? I like your fruit/veg idea--it's chockfull of anti-oxidants and quite cleansing. The fiber/water keeps you fuller longer and is wicked for all body systems. (This only rings true if those things agree with you physically!)
Perhaps a dip--there's some great recipes. A soup? A smoothie? A cooked safe veg. salad? Fruits and veggies are my favourite munchies.
