Hi Anthony! A sigmoidoscopy is nothing to worry about. The prep just involves using some kind of laxative to clean yourself out. My doc had me use phosphosoda the night before and then a couple of enemas that morning. The procedure itself was simple. No anesthesia involved. It did make me a little gassy and uncomfortable because they inject air into your intestines, but that passed pretty quickly. And at least after this you'll be on your way to a definite diagnosis.
