What a success story!
Thank goodness for Heather, her diet, and her books. I too have been feeling great since starting Heather's diet. I'm IBS A and haven't had D or C since the end of May (I started the diet early May), except for a bad week in early July when I had an attack from swordfish that did not agree with me.
My routine is very similar to yours. For exercise I run and do pilates, not every day, but as frequently as time permits (I also take the stairs etc. whenever possible).
I also eat frequently, take fiber and drink water throughout the day. Peppermint tea is my miracle beverage and I carry Altoids and Fibercon for any discomfort that comes along when I'm away from home. I also carry Levsin just in case, but I haven't had to take it since the 4th of July.
I take Centrum in the morning after breakfast and Caltrate at night after dinner (unless I'm not feeling right).
Salad (lettuce, croutons, a little non-fat dressing) agrees with me but all other raw vegetables are a no-no. Small amounts of cooked spinach and green beans are ok but so far thats it for green veggies.
Also, eating out is becoming easier. I now tell the waitresses that I have IBS (my husband's suggestion) and so far everyone has been very accomadating. In fact, we make a joke of it - I tell the waitress that I have IBS and can't tolerate fat and we figure out my order, then my husband then tells the waitress that he doesn't have IBS and to give him the works!
Anyway, I was very glad to read your post. Your outline is very helpful and I'm going to check out the fitday.com website!
Thanks,
Kim
