Adjusting to a low fat diet hasn't been too hard for me although I had to cut back more than I had been. But I have been a subscriber to Cooking Light magazine for over 7 years and have eaten low fat a long time. Does anyone else get it? It is really full of good recipes (usually). Sure some need to be adapted to remove dairy and red meat. Anyway I have written to CL twice to ask for an article about soluble fiber diets. Since soluble fiber is good for diabetes and high cholesterol it seems like a good idea. They said there isn't enough of a need for that diet to merit an article. But it would be so great to get the word out about Heather's diet to people with IBS that haven't heard of it and read CL magazine. Anyone agree? Does anyone else get that mag? If so I urge you to write or e-mail and ask for an article about the diet. It is wonderful even for people without IBS. My diabetic friend might start it and my husband has lost a lot of weight and says he can't eat fatty things anymore b/c his stomach grumbles afterward! Here's hoping we can get the word out!

--------------------
IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
