Hey Steph,
How was your IBS before you came to England? I'm not an expert or a psyhcologist (although I play one on TV) but it seems to me you don't have your own 'space'. Not just for doing the hypno but for escaping the British mob.
For the hypno sessions, I recommend two things. First of all, when I'd listen to them and my roommates were upstairs watching a movie (right on top on my room) I'd use ear plugs underneath my head phones while listening. Secondly, put up a do not disturb sign. Something along the lines of
"Listen here you bloody twit, Do Not disturb me, That means YOU! Unless the house is on fire or there is impending doom, do not knock on the door!"
