Overeaters Anonymous - a 12 step program. You need to weigh and measure your food and call it into a sponsor each morning. The program/sponsor advocates no white flour or sugar as these create cravings. I've lost about 52 pounds over the past 3 months and want to be sure the diet change isn't aggravating my ibs. I also am in the process of meeting with a nutritionist to find the best way to stay with OA as it's the only program I know that people lose tons of weight and keep it off. My doctor agreed that the changed diet will dramatically improve the IBS.
If you have more questions, please let me know. Thanks so much for setting up this site. It's the only place I have found that has helped give me useful information. I've been dealing with IBS for 8 years after surgery and just recovered from a c-dif infection that I am hoping is the reason my ibs is so horrible right now. It's becoming debilitating. Scary stuff.
