I haven't been diagnosed yet, either, but I'm working on it. I've lost about 30lbs since January because of my symptoms. The diet information on this site will help stabilize her health, and she *might* gain a little of the weight back, but she really should get to a doctor as soon as she can, to rule out anything more serious than IBS.
I sympathize - I don't have insurance either. Two things that might help. Has she ever tried applying for Medicaid, or a state-run version of it? I really though I wouldn't qualify for it, but I applied today and actually got it.  Second thought... if she doesn't qualify for state assistance, she can always go to the emergency room. Hospitals CANNOT turn people away, even if they have no way of paying. I used to work in a hospital; I know it's true.
