It's a combination of an anti-anxiety/sedative type drug and an anti-spasmodic. It's generally used in the treatment of IBS and peptic ulcer (from what I've read). Because it's from the benzodiazepen (sp?) family it can be potentially addictive, so some doctors are reluctant to prescribe it. I don't know how it would work for a C person...if your C is triggered by stress and anxiety I would imagine it would help, although I believe one of the possible side effects is constipation.
