how quickly does a "trigger" food act? (and diahera!)

One more question.
Do trigger foods always upset your stomach immediately, or could it take days? Sometimes, right at the end of a good bowel movement (normal stools) I'll suddenly get diahara that enflames my anus. Since the diahrea is at the end, does that mean it was something I recently ate that caused it, or could it be something days before? ken
