Hi - If you see bruises where you're feeling pain that would not be IBS. Some folks do have IBS pain radiate into their lower back, and sometimes even up to their shoulder or neck. This is usually in association with the lower abdominal pain. But back, shoulder, or neck pain as a stand alone symptom, especially if you're feeling a "muscle soreness" isn't IBS, so I would definitely see your doc.
