I don't know what kind of antibiotic they gave me the first time, but the second time it was Flagyl. Worked wonders, and didn't bother my tummy at all. I keep it in my purse for emergencies, for the next time I'm a million miles away and suddenly get a diverticulitis attack..... Check it out.
