You BET I'm a collector! LOVE the bears.
Mt. Vernon isn't far from me. The lady who does finishing on knitted garments is there. I love to knit, but hate the finishing!
Actually, I'm on the Canadian border; I could almost walk across.
You talk about our rain. I'll let you in on a little secret, Susan -- but don't tell anyone. The fabulous weather up here is the world's best-kept secret. It's the same as the weather in B.C., obviously, we're just a mile down the street. Nothing like the weather in Seattle. They get all the rain. (Sorry Heather and Shell.) While we do get rain, it's only for a day; the next day it's clear and sunny and GORGEOUS! We never get any humidity whatsoever, and the hottest it ever gets is 75. In the winter, just a day or two of snow, no more. I LOVE it here!
I miss my beloved loons -- BUT we have the most incredible Canadian geese. They fly overhead in a "V" formation while squawking. It's absolutely beautiful to see -- I go running out on my deck when I hear them. Okay, so they're not as great as the loons, but I'll take what I can get.
We used to go back to the annual rowing camp in Raymond (Maine), and row WITH the loons. It was pure heaven for me, reminiscent of my childhood on the lake. Ah well, the good ole days ...
Okay, now I'm REALLY rambling! Sorry.
