Like I said, it hasn't been constant. I first showed IBS symptoms at about 12, but they kind of held off through the rest of my teen years, except for being nauseous all the time. The problems have mostly been on and off through my 20s, and I've actually only had one other spell quite as bad as this one I'm fighting now (when I was 25). I mostly had D and cramping, which I always just "fixed" with imodium, till it suddenly stopped working. I've never had the bloating, thank goodness - I don't think I could deal with that on top of this.
